Supply Chain Management, Health Care Systems and Applications.

We invite submissions emphasizing methodological and analytical exposition of theoretical constructs applied to solving highly relevant business problems in the general areas of supply chain management, health-care services delivery, information systems engineering, and process design and improvement. The scope of topics in this research area of OMEGA is wide and inter-disciplinary. Topics emphasizing intersection of Operations Management to problems / issues in information technology and knowledge management, enterprise resource planning and integrated systems, new product development, technology management, quality management, and systems engineering will be entertained for publication. We are interested in promoting research in emerging topics such as sustainable engineering, energy efficiency in health care, energy, retail industry in public and private sectors. Papers emphasizing model development, optimization and operational and system-wide improvements are especially encouraged.

Professor Erwin Pesch – University of Siegen, D-57068 Siegen, Germany

Production Management, Scheduling and Logistics

High quality papers with a special focus in Production Management, Scheduling and/or Logistics are very welcome. Research may include deterministic or stochastic, robust and multi-objective or game-theoretic approaches, heuristics or exact methods or approximations in the variety of the aforementioned areas. We are especially interested in models and methods resulting from real applications, e.g. from manufacturing, project scheduling, health care, transport and routing or personnel planning, as well as in more theoretical papers solving a long standing research question.

Professor J. Cole Smith – University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611, USA

Optimization Applications and Health Care Operations Research.

We seek submissions related to the use of optimization models and techniques to address practical optimization challenges. Of particular interest are papers that present effective and contemporary modeling and solution approaches for a novel application area, as well as those papers that contain breakthroughs on solving established problems in application domains of considerable interest. This area will also review papers in the field of health care operations research (OR), broadly construed to include fields such as medical, biomedical, and health policy applications.  Highly technical content is publishable as necessary, but should be placed in an appendix where possible.

Data Envelopment Analysis, Multicriteria Decision Analysis, Service Operations

We consider papers on a variety of methodological and applied areas of research in the area of DEA, Multicriteria Decision Analysis, and Service Operations. A theoretical or methodological contribution should aid in the modeling and optimizing of specific operational processes or issues, or should demonstrate potential impacts on operational practice. We encourage empirical, analytical, or theoretical papers addressing the modeling and improvement of productivity and performance, and the modeling of multiple objective preferences.
